If you haven’t visited the PFS POWER website at pfspower.org yet, now is the time, with brand new content added every week. Webinars are launched every Tuesday or Wednesday, delivered by POWER Partner Dimensional Fund Advisors and top financial planning business consultant Brett Davidson of FP Advance, as well as many financial planning practitioners – all sharing good practice insights and experiences.

Recent themes include: ‘Why financial planning?’; ‘Purpose, vision and culture’; ‘Value and fees’; ‘First contact with new clients’; and ‘How you shape and deliver your financial planning service and investment proposition’. All have attracted a huge number of views from financial planning professionals, generating questions and answers to the key challenges faced by those delivering a financial planning service.

A new arrival is the POWER Podcast, hosted by Rob Schwarz and Scott Miller, (next gen) financial planners at First Wealth. Mr Schwarz and Mr Miller talk to colleagues in the financial planning world keen to shake things up and move things on. Listen to how the guests find a career in financial planning, soak up all the resources they can, enjoy success and share everything they have learned with anyone who wants to know.

You can also watch two POWER Webinars by practitioner Neil Parker, talking about commercials: how to structure and charge for your service. There is a POWER 5 by practitioner Tom Orchard, who moved to a fixed fee structure. There is also an honest POWER Talks chat about fees and charging with Mr Parker, Alasdair Walker and Emily Turgoose. All offer different views on how to charge for your service and why you should be bold about the fee decisions you make.
